Much of the existing Laundry Building was demolished, leaving the shell of the original building. The structural system was modified for integrity and the bowstring truss roof system was restored. The end walls were reconstructed adding a parapet, fenestration and details. The finish roof is standing seam metal in a bronze color. The interiors were upfitted for three business tenants with appropriate fire separations and other building code requirements.

The proportions and rhythm of the openings along the length of the building were modified to produce elevations of balance. The building maintains the appropriate character of a traditional, industrial structure although many of the details are contemporary. It sits comfortably in its historic downtown Southern Pines neighborhood.
