Bookstore Expansion

When the Owner of the Country Bookshop expanded her intimate retail enterprise into an adjacent space, she doubled the size of the store. Concerned that the small-town character would be lost, she asked us to preserve this ambiance. The entire space was reorganized with new fixtures, display spaces, collection organization, and customer and staff circulation patterns.

The central office area is defined by a free-standing cubical which preserves the historic ceiling. It’s crafted with wood molding and shuttered “windows” which afford visual monitoring by the staff during business hours.

The store remained open throughout construction.
